Prep

  • Preheat oven to 425°F
  • Cut turnips into french fry shape

  • Put turnip fries in a bowl with ice water and wait 20 minutes

  • Take the turnip fries out of the ice water and dry between two paper towels

  • Place aluminum foil on a baking sheet and brush the foil with oil or non-stick cooking spray
  • Place the turnip fries on the aluminum foil in a single layer

Cooking Instructions

  • Bake in oven at 425°F for 20 minutes. Halfway through flip the turnip fries over.
  • Let it cool a few minutes before serving

Notes

  • To reduce the chance of turnip fries being soggy, look for smaller turnips.
  • The step to soak turnips in ice water helps with reducing the chance of the turnip fries to become soggy.
  • These need to be eaten shortly after baking as the longer you wait, they turn soft.
