Capers are pickled flower buds of a thorny shrub that grows all over the Mediterranean. When pickled they have a salty-sour pungency that adds amazing flavor to this recipe. The quality of capers is inversely related to their size, the smaller the better. Capers are easily found in grocery stores where you normally find pickles.
Garlic Butter Shrimp with Capers Instructions
Put stove on medium head and add 1 tbsp olive oil and 2 tsp chopped garlic and stir. Then add 1/2 pound of shrimp to the pan, stirring occasionally until cooked. Then add 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp lemon juice. Stir until butter fully melted. Then add 1 tsp drained capers and 2 tsp chopped parsley and mix well.
Ingredients
- 2 tsp garlic - chopped
- 2 tsp parsley - chopped
- 1 tsp capers - drained
- 1/2 tsp salt - adjust to taste
- 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 lbs shrimp
Instructions
- Put stove on medium head and add olive oil and chopped garlic. Stir.
- Add shrimp to the pan, stirring occasionally until cooked.
- Add salt, lemon juice and butter. Stir until butter fully melted.
- Add capers and parsley. Mix well.
